About this episode
There are many differences in health and wellness goals that exist between people of different socio-economic backgrounds. Health coaching is a process that supports someone's health and wellness goals, but not everyone gets the same amount of support due to varying levels of income, education, access to resources (e.g. healthy food), etc. And this lack of support can result in poorer health outcomes for those who are already disadvantaged.
In this episode, I speak with Melissa Arthur. We talk about her experience working as a health coach in a primary care setting.
- What outside factors made it harder for patients to be successful
- How to successfully engage with patients given their potential limited resources
- Advice for those interested in a career as a health coach.
