About this episode

In this episode, I speak with Dr. Allison Young. Dr. Young is a board-certified psychiatrist and works with people who have a wide range of mental health issues. She is also into lifestyle medicine and thinks that it's important to differentiate between anxiety that is clinical and anxiety that is not. Clinical anxiety is defined by a specific constellation of symptoms and it impacts your functioning for six months or more.

I see a lot of people in the wellness world who try to manage their anxiety on their own. Still, it's important to know if we're talking about subclinical anxiety or clinical anxiety.

In this episode, you will learn the following:

  • How anxiety is the most prevalent form of mental distress.
  • How depression and anxiety are different.
  • How to support someone with mental distress.
